I know that there are a lot of Chardonnay lovers in the UK European continent area and outside. In here I would like to review a number of Chardonnays which can be delivered to the UK. The wines are from various Old World wine countries, in this case France and Italy.
All wines have been rated, see details of how the rating is done here.
All wines below will be delivered through Perfect Cellar who sell this one on line and to which I am affiliated. If you are interested in the wines reviewed, just click the banners on this page and then go to all wines>Chardonnay.
Latest: PerfectCellar discontinued their services, hence their wines will no longer be reviewed here.
Feel free to leave any comments, questions and remarks in the comment box below and I will come back to you within 24 hours. Also please share your experiences with any of these wines.
Its only 3.30pm in the afternoon here in the UK, and its the middle of winter, but your article makes me wish for summer evenings and wine drinking in the garden,
This is a VERY informative article on the types of wine and not information that you can get so readily. I tend to just buy at sainsburys, and go by what information you can get there, but having come across your article i am seriously considering stocking up for the summer and choosing some really great wines and feel a bit educated about my choice for once!
Hi Ruth, I like the idea of stocking up and if I can be of help, please let me know. This website has quite some reviews of Chardonnays for the UK market. You can visit and see the summary here. Apart from the French ones, there are Chardonnays available from the best producing countries in the world, such as USA, S-Africa, Australia and New Zealand. All of the wines reviewed have been rated by experience, either my own or by various experts. Just take a look and share your information with other Chardonnay lovers in the area. Cheers, Jerry
Are you available in Kenya. I don’t drink a wine but I intend to start selling it as I see nowadays it has a good demand. I wish to have your prices including shipping so as to compare it with other companies.
Then if reliable I will arrange and start buying from you.
do you know your website is easy to access and it will encourage more visits from me.
Hi Divican, thanks for the interest in my site and its wine. I think it is a good idea to open up the market in Kenya. I will give you all the support necessary to do so. I have sent you an e-mail message to this effect, asking some relevant questions. I hope you will be able to answer soon. Cheers, Jerry
I live in France, the country of wine, so your review has really caught my eyes! Chardonnay is really a great wine, love it! It’s great to have tested all these wines, one can see that you know what you’re talking about! It’s great to know also that one can buy anything on the Internet, even wine!
Thanks David, the Burgundy area of France is probably the best known Chardonnay area. The internet is an ever expanding medium and more and more articles/good/services are being bought through it. If you are interested, you can help testing Chardonnay wines with the aid of the rating system explained and the form contained in this website. Cheers, Jerry
Aww, I live in the States. Too bad. I would probably ruin them anyway. My husband always makes fun of me and says that I ruin wine by adding Sprite or 7-up to make a sort of wine cooler. I like a sweet, but light taste. I like red port wines. I’m not much of a drinker, but I do like to have a taste from time to time. 🙂
Hi Melinda, I have seen people mix their white wine with soda, water or sprite. If this is the way you like it, then so be it. Maybe in this way you will indeed develop a taste for Chardonnay, which by the way are mostly dry white wines. If you are into sweet, then you should try a white dessert wine such as the French Sauternes is. Good luck, Jerry
I see even though some wines may get a better score the prices do not always reflect the same. Price is not something you can always go by when purchasing products and the wine you listed shows the same trends.
You did leave the best for last “Cote de Beaune St Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois” with a rating of 92/100 and a price tag to follow, well done.
Hi Travis, the price will always be an indicator of the quality of the wine, the higher the price, the better the quality. However, if it is up to your personal taste is an entirely different matter. Cheers, Jerry
Great review. I am a big wine lover and chardonnay is one of mine favorite. As I am from Croatia I must mention that we have very good local chardonnay wines. They are not at top five but still, maybe you should also check croatian wines and wrotie something about them. i will refer this site to all of my friend. Thanks. Keep us posted.
Hi Igor, nice to hear from somebody of Croatia. I have heard about Croatian Chardonnays before and I will certainly further investigate and write about them. Thank you for referring this site to all of your friends. Cheers, Jerry
I am from India and would like to know if these wines can be imported to India and what would be the shipping cost and the minimum quanity allowed, would love to hear back from you and hope to get a positive reply from you.
Thanks for sharing this great piece of information
Hi Kunal, thank you for your reaction. Yes, greatwinesdirect delivers internationally. You would have to order a minimum quantity of 6 bottles. When you go to there site, just give them your full address and ask for a quote. Cheers, Jerry
