Wine review – Margaret River Australia

By | June 22, 2015

Introduction

The Margaret River region is another one of Australia’s fine Chardonnay producing areas.

Here Chardonnay seems to acquire a unique extra dimension. It is more concentrated, more complex, more viscous margaret river wine reviewand tangy, yet does not become overly cloying or heavy. The voluptuous fruit lends itself to the full range of wine making techniques and the region’s winemakers do not shirk from using them.

Find below my Margaret River region wine reviews of some of its quality Chardonnays.

All the wines have been rated and you can read here how this system works.

The wine sale company, of which I am an affiliate and as such have been promoting their wines, has meanwhile discontinued this affiliate service. This is why I was forced to cancel the reviews of the wines offered through this site.

In order to resume my services to you, I am looking for other companies to promote their wines for the Australian market. However, at the moment none seem to be present. There was one such firm available, but it will not allow affiliates from outside Australia. I will keep looking for next opportunities which will allow me to review the excellent Australian Chardonnays again and offer you the best in the world.

What do the ratings mean?

Score Explanation
95–100 A classic great wine
90–94 An outstanding wine of superior character and style
85–89 A very good wine with special qualities
80-84 A good solid, well-made wine
75–79 A mediocre wine, drinkable but may have minor flaws
50–74 Not recommended

    hi Jerry
love this post about chardonnays from the Margaret River region. I love Australian wine. And this review looks very professional. I used to buy wine magazines and read similar reviews, making my “grocery list” as I was reading 🙂 I am going to be looking for those in my liquor store. The first and last wines seem particularly interesting to me. The sea breeze would provide a nice touch to the wine flavor. And I have learned to really love chardonnays made in steel barrels. It provides a lightness and freshness that can be hard to find in oak barreled chardonnays

Hi Emily, I think that the Chardonnays from Margaret River are among the top Australian ones and thus in the world’s best list. The first wine is of high quality with a very reasonable price, thus a great opportunity. The last ones are just top quality wines. I hope you find what you are looking for. Cheers, Jerry

Very informative, despite the fact i’m not a wine lover, this is an excellent guide to buy gifts for my mother who is a huge wine lover. Its clear on the structure, good use of images and a good use of language for this type of article.
